Neill Blomkamp's District 9 is a technical and marvelous achievement - both a gripping, fast-paced sci-fi thriller and an emotionally resonant racial allegory. Moving, thrilling and refreshingly realistic thansk to its documentary style, this is one of the most original sci-fi films and the most 'human' alien films I've seen. And it's a nice change NOT seeing aliens in US cities.
Highlights: Alien Mecha-suit magnetically repelling bullets. YEAH.
